Message from: The National Service Committee (NSC) for Catholic Charismatic Renewal in England and Wales

CHRIST IS RISEN. ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA.
HE IS RISEN INDEED. ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA.
The tomb is empty.
To Him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.

Brothers and sisters, Happy Easter from the NSC. I pray that you are having a wonderful celebration of Easter knowing that death could not hold Jesus down.

And as we continue the Easter celebrations, we are also looking forward to Pentecost. One of the ways we can do this is by praying together in faith and expectation. If you go to the CCR website at www.ccr.org.uk/articles/pentecost-prayer-unity-and-mission/, you will find several resources to help you.

I know that some of you will be aware that CHARIS, the new one service of CCR launched a big prayer campaign in March leading up to Pentecost on 9th June, but we thought that it would be useful to make sure everyone knows about it and has the opportunity to participate in it and publicise it even further.

CHARIS and Pentecost

One of the reasons why Pope Francis called for the creation of CHARIS, the new one service for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, was his desire that the whole Church come to experience the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. He has always expressed very clearly this desire for a new Pentecost for the Church and the world, recently once more at the end of the mass for World Youth Day in Panama.

In order to prepare for this new Pentecost, CHARIS launched a big prayer campaign from the beginning of March. This campaign is simple and accessible to everyone. Each month (March, April, May) an address will be given by Father Raniero Cantalamessa, the Ecclesiastical Assistant to CHARIS, who will prepare us to open our hearts for a new outpouring of the Spirit.

Here are the links to the first and second teaching of this campaign:

It would be very powerful for as many people as possible to get on board with the CHARIS Pentecost prayer. It’s a great initiative and one that Catholics across the world will be joining in with. Please spread the word about this initiative to those around you, in your prayer groups, your communities, and your parishes. Be faithful in prayer so that this Pentecost really does mark the start of a renewal of the whole Church in the Holy Spirit.

Abundant blessings on you all

Eddie Drozdziak on behalf of the NSC
